Use this route if you are registering a used vehicle for the first time and it has not got a registration plate. This particularly applies if you have a classic vehicle that has not been taxed since 1983.

The IHHA will provide a ‘Dating Certificate’ to verify the year of manufacture.

The DVLA will issue you with a registration that is age appropriate.

Those members/non-members residing in N.Ireland are required by the DVLA to provide a copy of the insurance certificate or cover note when applying for a registration.
